Special Financial Incentives
Owen Sound was designated as a Family Physician Under serviced Community 3 years ago by the Ministry of Long Term Health. This entitles any family physician who decides to relocate to Owen Sound and open a family practice to the following financial incentives:
Family Health Incentives:

Guaranteed income of $150,000 per year to new family practice graduates in the FHN. |

Outside bonuses available. |
Ministry of Long Term Health Incentives:
 |
$40,000 tuition reimbursement grant available to any new family physician within 6 months of finishing residency. |

$15,000 incentive grant (paid over 4 years) for any family physician opening a full-time practice in a designated underserviced area. |

Expense (hotel and travel) reimbursement for a trip to our community when considering beginning a practice. |
GBHS Incentives:

Moving and relocation grants and loans may be available from GBHS depending on in hospital work provided. |

We will help with negotiating this with you and give any needed support. |
Community Incentives:

$10,000 per year for 5 years (total $50,000) to any new physician opening a community based practice within 12 months of finishing residency |

Free golf or fitness club membership for one year from Stone Tree Golf and Fitness |
|
$100 voucher for swimming or sailing lessons from Jan Caldwell Aquatics |
|
Owen Sound Attack - Junior A hockey tickets |

2 children's Can-Skate skating lessons |

1 child's annual fee for Owen Sound Minor Soccer |
|
2 night passes to Blue Mountain Ski Resort |

Plus others depending on the applicants interests |
